To The End Of The Earth And Back

A new look for my blog (thanks to Manu), and a new post for 2012. Well, the first “real” post for the year in any case. It’s been a whirlwind start to the year, and I’m finally feeling like things are settling into their place. I feel like I can finally get a hold on myself. Small routines are developing, and little by little I can fit more into my day. I’m loving being a Mumma, despite not having had a full nights sleep in almost six months. Hugo’s gorgeous morning smiles, and eagerness to start a new day, make it all worthwhile.

We started our year in Australia. Yes, that’s right we took the long flight from Paris to Perth with a three month old. It was great. Hugo got to meet all the family, and my friends, and go to the beach, and lay around in board shorts all day long. What a life! It was amazing for me to go home again so soon, and to go there this time as a Mumma. It made things so much more hectic. I feel like I did half as much but it took twice as much time.

I flew back to Paris (solo) with my little man at the end of January, and it went so well. We left during Perth’s hottest week since 1952, and landed back in Paris’s coldest week of the season. It was such a shock to the system going from 40°C to -10°C.

We took these pics during that cold snap, and needless to say I was freezing! I was so happy I chose to wear those shearling lined boots, which do a great job of keeping my ankles warm, and the shearling collar on my leather jacket does the same for my neck. The shirt was a little investment I made pre-Christmas. It’s from Ekyog, which I love since it’s organic, and environmentally conscious. I’ve been really loving their collections, and I have a few more of their pieces which I can’t wait to share with you.

What do you think? Have any of you heard of Ekyog, or know of any other labels designing with the environment in mind?
